The Tejo region is located in the heart of Portugal, near the capital of the country - Lisbon. It has a rich cultural heritage and is famous for its historical treasures. You can find here Roman ruins, Gothic castles, Manueline monasteries and medieval villages on the tops of the hills. It is one of the oldest regions in Portugal with the tradition of viticulture dating back to the 12th century. The endemic varieties of red vines include: Touriga Nacional, Castelao Francés, Trincadeira Preta.
This intense and structural wine, with aromas and flavors of forest fruits, vanilla, with a hint of spicy and velvety tannins fits perfectly with roasted and grilled meats, pasta with meat and mushroom sauces, expressive cheeses.

The wine is produced by a family-owned company founded in the 1980s by Jose Candido, currently managed by Mariana and Rui Candido. Their main goal and guiding purpose is the production of the highest quality wines in line with the nature and tradition of the region.
