Tommasi's passion for wine and the desire to discover and choose the best Italian vineyards, took them to Puglia. About 80 hectares of land were purchased in Manduria, in the region of Salento, one of the best grape growing areas of Primitivo, where the viticulture has an extremely ancient origin, dating back to the times of Magna Graecia.
Ares Rosso may seem aggressive because of his name - Ares was a Greek god of war - but in reality the wine is extremely limited, especially in terms of alcohol, which, according to the Tommasi family, owners of the estate, is the key to balance wine in Apulia. The wine is a mix of Primitivo and Negroamaro, the two main indigenous grapes in the region. The highest-quality fruit needed to produce this wine is obtained by strictly selecting clones, modern vine training systems and strong trimming, to produce a small quantity of high-quality wines with respect for terroir and tradition.
Ares has an intense ruby color. You can feel red fruit and bird cherry in it. Delicious in taste, with balanced acidity and soft tannins. Perfect for first dishes, red and roasted meat.
