Vinho verde is a Portuguese wine from the Minho region in the northwest of the country and the wine region in which it is produced. The name refers to the youth and freshness of the wine, not to the color, because the appeal produces red, white and a small pink wine. The term vinho verde also refers to the freshness of wines produced from grapes harvested before full maturity, to avoid the whims of the weather.
The wine is created in the beautiful 400-year-old estate of the Fonseca family, partly adapted to a wine cellar and wine storage cellars. In addition to the range of wines, the pride of the family is the largest camellia cultivation in Europe.
This joyful and elegant wine, with lots of citrus and ripe southern fruit goes well with caldo verde, fish soup, seafood, fish dishes, koźliną and meat art.
