Languedoc-Roussillon is one of the oldest wine regions in France located in the southern part of the country on the Mediterranean, stretching from Montpellier to the Spanish border. It is the largest wine region in France, within which 40% of the total area of French vineyards is located - a total of 340,000 ha of crops. The main varieties of red vines in this region include: Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre, Carignan, Cinsault. For many years, international varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have been grown. The latter gives strong blackcurrant aromas in black wine and a delicate structure of tannins combined with a touch of vanilla perfectly blend with roasted meats, grilled lamb and ripened cheeses. The wine comes from the fairytale Chateau l'Esparou, belonging to the Bonfils family, located on the Mediterranean, near the border with Spain, where grapevines were grown more than 800 years ago.
