The beginnings of Clarke castle date back to the 12th century, when the Cistercians from the Vertheuil abbey planted the first vines. After many adventures, the property was purchased in 1973 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Particular attention is paid to the methods of cultivation and the production of wine, which are subject to the most stringent controls. Since the first year at Chateau Clarke in 1978, the quality of wines has never stopped improving. The wine is aged in new barrels for 14 to 18 months. In the mouth the wine is full and round, strong with velvety tannins, with aromas of spices, perfectly balanced. Chateau Clarke has great aging potential.
