Malvira started production in 1950 - it was then managed by Giuseppe Damonte. He was an outstanding wine-grower but also a visionary - he knew how to maximize the viticulture in the Roero region. Today, the estate is managed by Massimo and Roberto - the sons of Giuseppe, who inherited the passion of their father. All vineyard workers, despite not being family by birth, form a large family of Malvira. Each of the men cutting the creepers after the ladies selecting bunches of grapes works in their duties as if they were working on their property. This gives us a guarantee of very high quality wines produced in the Malvira vineyard.
This richly made wine is made exclusively of the Nebbiolo strain from the vineyard of Boiolo in La Morra. During production, fermentation and maceration are carried out for 4 weeks in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 24 months in a French double barrique, followed by 12 months in a bottle. In the glass, an intense color of a red ruby with orange reflections, an intense nose rich in spices. The full flavor of dark berries and fruits, dried roses and spices. It is an elegant and durable wine with strong tannins. Recommended for roast meats, cold meats and mature cheese.
