Rioja is the most famous wine region in Spain, located in its northern part on the pilgrimage route to Santiago del Compostela. The first grapevines in this area were planted by the Romans as early as in the second century BC. The popularity of this strain and the very good results obtained during the production of wines meant that this variety spread to the whole of Spain and took on different names in different regions, such as Tinta del País, Aragonés, Cencibel, Ull de Llebre, Tinto Fino and Tinta de Toro.
Bodega Ontanón is a multi-generational family wine cellar located in the Rioja Baja region. Passion for the vine, passion for wine and passion for art is the motto of the Pérez Cuevas family, who believes that each of these elements contributes to human development and experience and illustrates the important connection of land with people and culture.
Light and well-arranged wine, with aromas and flavors of ripe raspberries and juicy strawberries and a velvety tannin structure. Recommended for light meat and vegetable tapas, roast poultry, pork sirloin.
