Greco is an ancient, light-skinned grape variety that originated in Greece, as the name suggests, imported to Italy 2000 years ago. This variety produces fragrant wines with straw-gold color. Cultivated in southern Italy, but the best expression of this variety comes from Tufo, a small village located 50 kilometers from Naples, which gives this unusual DOCG name. The rich mineralization and raised bouquet of Greco di Tufo is due to the unique, oxygen-rich volcanic soil. The wine is refreshing, crisp with aromatic notes of lemons, pears and roasted almonds with a mineral finish. Recommended for oily fish, white meats in sauces, rabbit and semi-hard cheeses.
